Director of the Foundation

Jefferson Healthcare is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as the Director of the Foundation. This critical role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Jefferson Healthcare Foundation, aligning philanthropic efforts with hospital priorities to advance organizational growth, innovation, and health equity. As a key member of the leadership team, the Director will drive sustainable fundraising strategies, deepen community engagement, and cultivate meaningful donor relationships to support the long-term success of Jefferson Healthcare.

Essential Functions:

• Provide overall strategic direction for the Jefferson Healthcare Foundation's philanthropic and fundraising initiatives. Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the mission and strategic goals of Jefferson Healthcare. Partner with senior leadership and the Foundation Board to ensure philanthropic efforts effectively support organizational priorities and long-term sustainability. Establish performance benchmarks and monitor progress toward fundraising, donor engagement, and operational goals.

• Plan, manage, and execute a multi-year development program encompassing annual giving, major gifts, and planned giving. Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners. Oversee all fundraising campaigns, marketing efforts, donor events, and employee giving initiatives. Maintain a visible and active presence in the community to promote philanthropic engagement and enhance the Foundation's reputation.

• Support the development and effective governance of the Jefferson Healthcare Foundation Board. Expand Board membership, clarify roles and responsibilities, and promote active engagement. Facilitate Board and committee meetings, retreats, and other governance activities. Support Board members in their roles as community ambassadors and advocates for the Foundation's mission.

• Provide leadership and oversight for day-to-day Foundation operations, including budget management, compliance, donor systems, and reporting. Ensure operational infrastructure meets organizational needs and donor data is accurate, timely, and secure. Supervise Foundation staff and/or contractors, and evaluate staffing requirements.

• Serve as the Foundation's representative across hospital initiatives, collaborating with departments such as Marketing, Finance, and Population Health. Act as a liaison between Jefferson Healthcare leadership and community philanthropic partners to foster trust, alignment, and shared impact.

• Perform other related duties as assigned to support the Foundation and Jefferson Healthcare's mission and strategic objectives.

What you'll need:

• Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, public relations, business, communications, or a related field required.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in philanthropy or nonprofit leadership, with a demonstrated track record in major gifts and donor engagement strategies.
• Proven experience in staff management, fundraising operations, and collaboration with nonprofit boards.
• Healthcare philanthropy or hospital foundation experience is strongly preferred.
• CFRE certification is a plus.

Schedule: .8 FTE; 32 Hours a week - Day Shift.  This position is Exempt and Onsite.
