Position Description

The Business Application Analyst is responsible for the support administration and optimization of all enterprise software applications used across the organization excluding the electronic medical record. This role serves as a liaison between departments and vendors to ensure applications effectively support business functions and strategic goals. The analyst plays a key role in application lifecycle management including system configuration user support and training troubleshooting upgrades and ongoing performance monitoring. Working closely with Process Improvement members, staff and stakeholders, the Business Application Analyst gathers requirements, translates business needs into technical solutions and contributes to the continuous improvement of processes through system enhancements. This role will troubleshoot and resolve system errors, operational user-error problems, including but not limited to connectivity, application errors, and other performance issues. Well-developed communication skills are necessary to convey highly technical concepts to a wide range of internal and external contacts. This role will provide and facilitate one-to-one and small group training. This role will prepare data for analysis, reports or presentations that aid in improved business functions or decision-making abilities. This role will create automations to improve processes where possible, and support software applications and associated interfaces. Familiarity with the EMR, and other systems and applications used in Financial, HR, Supply Chain is beneficial.

Major Responsibilities

  • Responsible for identifying and implementing solutions to address workflow improvement opportunities and system inefficiencies.
  • Uses data to determine the best course of action and manages projects from creation to completion with clear deliverables and continuous communication.
  • Anticipates and addresses issues proactively through data analysis, customer feedback, and understanding of industry best practices.
  • Uses process improvement tools, such as process mapping, A3, driver diagrams to analyze opportunities to improve, understand process variation, and develop corrective action plans by leveraging technology enhancements or solutions.
  • Uses proven change management strategies to implement new systems and enhance the use of existing systems.
  • Independently collaborates with leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of system applications and understand gaps in system utilization through active monitoring.
  • Responsible for making recommendations on changes to technology related applications to leadership in order to achieve strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Align technical solutions with business requirements, strategic plans, and established standards.
  • Designs, coordinates, and improves integration with existing workflows and systems.
  • Educates employees on the use and best practices of our applications and the EMR.
  • Works closely with Clinical Informatics Specialists, Information Technology, and organizational leadership including executives, directors, managers, and supervisors.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, Information Technology, Business Administration or any other related field.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Experience with commonly used healthcare systems (ERP, HIRS, Financial systems, contract systems, etc.) preferred
  • Process improvement experience or certification preferred.
  • Project Management experience or certification preferred.
  • Management of SaaS or Application experience preferred.

Schedule

1.0 FTE; exempt position. Hybrid position with on site work expected 1-2 days/week
