Supervisor, Biomedical Services (Biomed)

Jefferson Healthcare (www.jeffersonhealthcare.org) is looking for a new full time Supervisor for our Biomedical Services Team. As supervisor you will supervise the day to day operations of the biomed staff. You will manage budgets and establish staffing needs including recommending hiring, training, and developing work schedules. Providing service support of Medical Equipment and related systems including maintenance, calibration, repair, technical support, and user training will also be a primary function of the supervisor.

This is a full time, exempt position and will remain open until filled.


Qualifications

  • Associates degree in related field preferred.
  • Six (6) years' (or combined) related experience in electronic technology, clinical engineering, or credentials of military electronic occupational training may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' previous leadership experience required.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's license

Responsibilities (please refer to the job description for full list):

  • Assists the Department Director in employee evaluations and reviews.
  • Provides direct reports with guidance and mentorship while fostering an environment of cohesion and professionalism.
  • Helps develop, facilitate, and manage budgets to assure financial accountability.
  • Works with outside vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure that contracts, warranties, and service agreements are appropriate, financially approved and in place prior to implementation.
  • Establishes staffing needs; collaborates with the Director to recommends/approves hiring, establishes work schedules, orients, trains, develops and assures continuing education for staff, assigns balanced workloads, assesses and manages performance with timely communication, counsels, coaches and mentors, recommends/approves staff departures.   • Develops strategies for customer satisfaction both internal and external. Participate in patient satisfaction metrics through collaboration with other leaders integrating the services provided by facilities.
  • Fosters a high performing, collaborative inter/intradepartmental culture.
  • Contributes to developing departmental strategic planning, capital planning, and relaying departmental determined strategic goals to assigned Biomedical Technicians.
  • Contributes to developing standard operating procedures and training plans to maintain competencies.
  • Supervises the installation, repair, and maintenance of all clinical equipment and instrumentation used for patient care.
  • Subject matter expert in diagnosing multiple different issues across multiple different clinical equipment asset classes.
  • Subject matter expert in performing maintenance on multiple different asset classes of clinical equipment.
